Calling all StageSiders, welcome back to another review here at StageSideUK. This time, we headed to Darlington Hippodrome on 2nd August 2026 for K-Pop All-Stars, presented by Entertainers. Bringing together some of the biggest hits from the ever-growing world of K-pop, this production delivers a high-energy celebration of one of the world’s fastest-growing music genres. Entertainers produce some of the best tribute shows out there, and I feel like they hit the nail on the head with this one (with a slight exception).
From the moment the cast burst onto the stage, the energy is electric. Every performance is packed with personality, some really slick choreography and bundles of enthusiasm that has the audience cheering from the very first number. It’s clear there is a real demand for a K-Pop show and judging by the almost sold-out auditorium filled with families and younger theatregoers, it certainly found its audience.
The set list is another real strength. Featuring music from artists including KATSEYE, BLACKPINK, HUNTR/X, JENNIE and many more, the show offers something for both dedicated K-pop fans and those simply looking for an upbeat afternoon or evening at the theatre. The songs are delivered at a relentless pace, ensuring there’s never a dull moment.
I will say, and this is the exception mentioned previously, I think the show could be split. Alot of the younger audience got VERY excited by the Demon Hunter songs, but were a bit lost with the other tunes. Where as I, a K-POP fan, was loving the pop tunes and found the demon hunters to be a little cheesy. I would say there was a mix in the crowd of both audiences so perhaps there is room for a demon hunter show and a kpop show?
One of my favourite aspects of the production was its interaction with the audience. Rather than simply performing a concert, the cast take the time to involve everyone in the room. We learnt a little Korean (even if it was a trap for six and seven!), discovered more about the performers themselves and even picked up a few dance moves along the way. These moments helped create a genuine connection between the cast and audience, making the experience feel much more personal and inclusive. The younger members of the audience looked like they loved taking part and it became more of an experience than a show.
The choreography deserves huge praise. K-pop is renowned for its demanding and energetic dance routines, and the company tackle them with incredible commitment. Every routine is packed with precision, energy and style, creating a visually exciting production that rarely stops to catch its breath.
Around halfway through the performance, one cast member appeared to pick up what looked to be a minor injury or discomfort, with a noticeable drop in physical energy compared to the opening numbers. However, what stood out was her professionalism. Despite clearly not performing at one hundred percent physically, she continued to deliver outstanding vocals and remained fully committed to the performance.
One aspect audiences may notice is that the production appears to blend live vocals with pre-recorded elements in places. Personally, this didn’t detract from the experience. The choreography is incredibly demanding, and the cast consistently deliver performances full of energy and charisma. In fact, I’d happily watch a handful of dance-focused numbers without microphones at all if it allowed the company to fully showcase their maximum potential for their dancing.
Ultimately, K-Pop All-Stars succeeds because it understands that K-pop is about more than just the music. It’s about performance, connection, personality and creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The cast embrace all of that, resulting in a thoroughly enjoyable evening that left me singing K-POP tunes for days.
Accessibility
The production features VERY loud music, bright theatrical lighting and audience interaction throughout. The pace is consistently high, with very few quieter moments. Some audiences may find the lighting and sound levels too high. Darlington Hippodrome do offer free ear buds at all performances (subject to availability).
Value for Money
With an energetic cast, a packed soundtrack of K-pop favourites and interactive moments that help audiences feel part of the show, K-Pop All-Stars offers good value for money. It’s an entertaining family-friendly production that successfully captures the excitement and spectacle of the genre.
If you’re already a K-pop fan, this is an easy recommendation. If you’re new to the genre, K-Pop All-Stars provides a fun, welcoming introduction that celebrates the music, the movement and, most importantly, the community that makes K-pop such a global phenomenon.
