Welcome to the first ‘Would you Rather’ question posted here on StageSideUK. Please do feel free to have fun with the questions, take them to mean what you want them to mean and be a bit silly with it.
Would you rather ONLY be able to watch Tragedies for ever, or ONLY be able to watch Comedies for ever?
I would rather watch Tragedies for ever. There is more substance to a tragedy than there is to a comedy, in my opinion. Plus, I get more enjoyment out of the emotional journey of a tragedy. I don’t think you get the same emotional range in a comedy. Besides, I couldn’t just abandon King Lear or Hamlet for a bit of a giggle… right? Am I just watchin the wrong comedies or is it that I am watching the right tragedies?
If anyone can give me some good comedy examples that may change my mind, please do leave them in the comments along with your response to the would you rather question.
