Hey guys and dolls,
This ‘Favourite Friday’ I want to know, what is your favourite west end show? This can be a play, a musical… anything really. As long as it has been performed in a west end theatre.
My favourite west and show would be Heathers the musical. I was given the tickets by my partner, who came with me, as part of my birthday celebrations. This was the second time me and my partner had been to london to see a show and it was just incredible. I had no idea that we were seeing Heathers until the night of the show (we had been in London a day and a half by that point) and my partner made me walk to the theatre, not knowing what I was seeing. When I saw the Other Palace, I almost broke into tears. I knew that Heathers was playing there and I felt very spoiled. Obviously for this season, the show will always have a place in my heart.
But emotions and soppy details aside, I loved the casting of the show, the energy of the cast, the music and the visuals. Everything was just amazing. The music changes from the american to the british were noticeable but I think they worked and made it a bit more english (not that this is always a good thing, but it did make it a tad more relatable). I loved the film from the 80’s and to see the action of the film on stage was just incredible. There have been few shows that have captured me and held my full attention for the duration of the show, but Heathers was one of them.
